The Photo Nobody Planned to Take

The favorite photograph from a two-week trip through Europe wasn’t taken in front of the Eiffel Tower. It wasn’t taken in Rome, Venice, or on a beautiful beach in Croatia. In fact, it wasn’t planned at all.

It happened on a Tuesday morning in a small café somewhere between destinations. The family had just sat down for breakfast after nearly missing a train the day before. The kids were laughing about it, the parents were drinking coffee, and nobody was l worrying about where to go next.
